Here are some of our favourites.

Woolacombe and Croyde beach are just a few miles up the road.

Amazing sandy beaches with warrens and rock pools, great for surfers, romantics and children alike.

 

Lee Bay is just 2 miles west of Ilfracombe.

Whether you go by road or foot the trip from Ilfracombe to Lee promises amazing sea views across the cliffs and you can recharge your batteries at the Grampus pub. If you go with the family the rocky cove and beach are sure to please.

 

Tunnels Beaches just 5 minutes walk.

In the centre of Ilfracombe, carved through the cliffs, are the tunnels beaches which are steeped in history, they were first opened in 1823 And provide a secluded beach and tidal pools, safe for children, see the new soft play hut and bar on www.tunnelsbeaches.co.uk

 

Lundy Island 15 minutes to Ilfracombe ferry.

Take a boat from the picturesque harbour and arrive at the beautiful island of Lundy within two hours. Where you can see Puffins, seals and deer as well as lighthouse and smugglers caves, it's a great day out.

If surfing is your thing, then North Devon won't disappoint, with some of the best surfing beaches in the country.

Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe are close by so you'll be spoilt for choice.

Ilfracombe has some of the finest walking in England. Whether you enjoy a gentle walk around Capstone Hill or the rugged Torrs Costal walk, with Exmoor on your door step, you can also enjoy the tranquil moorland hills and spectacular scenery.

Wildlife and Dinosaur Park

Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park is situated in 28 acres of well tended grounds. Full of interesting and unusual animals, including wolves, sea lions, monkeys and meercats. In addition there's a dinosaur museum, NASA space light show and a canyon train ride. Great for kids.

The Big Sheep

Ifracombe Aquarium

Great little aquarium on the harbour in Ilfracombe. Housing a unique collection of sea life, all found around North Devon. Open all year, has a small cafe too. Just a 15 min walk from The Quarry.

Watermouth Castle

One of the West Country’s premier Family Tourist Attractions where you can enjoy, a Victorian Castle full of eclectic treasures, nostalgic displays and curios, a theme park including rides and play areas, and beautiful landscaped gardens. A 5 min drive from The Quarry, towards Combe Martin.
